The Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Museum in Jaipur, Rajasthan is envisioned as a space that celebrates both memory and experience. The design composes two primary blocks on site, thoughtfully arranged to define distinct functions while maintaining a seamless flow.
These blocks are connected by a striking brick colonnade, articulated through a rhythmic series of arches and a pergola above, creating dramatic patterns of light and shadow.
Locally sourced stone and traditional Mangalore tiles ground the museum in its regional context while ensuring timelessness in materiality. The result is a space that honors Lal Bahadur Shastri’s legacy with dignity and quiet strength.
The museum layout is curated as a slow, contemplative sequence where each spatial moment reveals a new fragment of the leader’s life. Interactive exhibits, quiet alcoves, and framed views build a narrative that is emotional as well as informative, allowing visitors to form a personal connection with Shastri’s values.
